Tyler Lu is a research scientist at Meta. Before working at Meta, he co-founded Talka AI in 2021 (named to CB Insights AI-100) and was a research scientist at Google Research from 2015 to 2020. He received his BMath and MMath from University of Waterloo (2003-2009) studying Computer Science and Combinatorics and Optimization and received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 2014. During his PhD, Lu received the Google PhD Fellowship in Computational Economics and had co-founded Granata Decision Systems which was acquired by Google in 2014.
