Dustin Foote

Dustin Foote is a multimedia producer at the Knight First Amendment Institute, where he creates podcasts, videos, and documentary content that support the Institute’s communications, public education, and advocacy efforts.

Before joining the Institute, Foote spent five years at Columbia University’s Office of Public Affairs, where he served as a senior media producer and contributed to the development of original video and audio storytelling projects. His work included producing documentary-style profiles, research features, and long-form interviews that highlighted the university’s scholars, students, and institutional initiatives. He developed and launched original series for YouTube, social media, and podcast platforms, helping expand Columbia’s digital audience and showcase the impact of its research and teaching.

Prior to Columbia, Foote worked in sports media as a staff writer at Deadspin and as an associate producer at The Players’ Tribune.
